Cartoon vs Realistic Figurines

Choose the interpretation you want to keep.

Cartoon proportions

A cartoon figure simplifies the face and body, often with a larger head and expressive eyes. The pose and outfit still come from the photograph. Multiple cartoon styles are documented, but their exact product and size combinations need review. Clay-look is a visual style; it does not mean the item is made from clay.

Realistic proportions

A realistic figure keeps a more natural silhouette. Full-body human pieces use four consistent views and 9, 12, 15 or 18 cm heights. Standalone realistic pets use 4 or 6 cm. Realistic proportions do not guarantee a numerical likeness score or an exact reproduction of skin and fur.

Cartoon vs realistic figurines at small scale

Both routes translate visible details into printable geometry. Slender accessories and isolated features may need strengthening. A cartoon preview makes the stylistic change more obvious; a realistic preview needs careful checks of profile, posture and clothing. Choose the route based on the intended appearance and the photographs you have.
