The keepsake guide

Print Ready OBJ File Requirements

Bring a model that can become a solid physical object.

OBJ, MTL and JPG

Submit the textured OBJ, its matching MTL and one merged JPG texture in a ZIP. Names and material references must agree; the MTL map_Kd entry should point to the included texture. Keep the archive under the site upload limit of 50 MB; this is a technical intake limit rather than a supplier product specification.

Geometry checks

The model should be a watertight solid, without holes, duplicate internal faces, self-intersections or unintended hollow shells. A single model is documented at up to 500,000 faces. The source mentions a larger two-subject allowance in another context, but multi-subject file printing is reviewed individually rather than automatically accepted.

Texture and orientation

Cartoon models need at least a 4K texture; realistic models at least 8K. Set the feet at the origin, face toward +Z, height along +Y and right along +X. Thin walls should be at least 2 mm. Separate components need strong connections; a 4 mm conservative intake check is used where the notes disagree about a 3 mm boundary.

Technical review before quotation

Archive intake checks the required file types and unsafe paths. A person still reviews mesh solidity, texture quality, material, dimensions and connections. Uploading a file is not a claim that it has passed every manufacturing check. Transparent and other special material requests need confirmation for the actual model.
